Triple homicide suspect captured in Arkansas after nearly 2-day manhunt: Police

Stacey Lee Drake was captured Thursday morning, police said.

An “unarmed and dangerous” suspect accused of three murders and multiple felonies in Oklahoma was captured Thursday morning following a nearly two-day manhunt.

Stacey Lee Drake, 50, was taken into custody Wednesday morning, the Conway County, Arkansas, Sheriff’s Office said. No further details were immediately released by authorities.

According to Arkansas State Police, Drake was wanted in connection with three murders stemming from two separate car thefts in Oklahoma.

“Drake is wanted separately on multiple felony warrants from multiple jurisdictions, on charges including aggravated robbery, carjacking and murder,” investigators said in a statement.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation released more details Wednesday about two homicides in Sequoia County. Authorities found a man and a woman dead in a shopping mall on Tuesday.

The identities of the victims were not immediately released.

Although the victims’ causes of death are still being determined by the medical examiner, Oklahoma investigators said, “Both suffered injuries consistent with homicide.”

Drake was last seen walking outside a motel in Morrilton, Arkansas, about 53 miles northwest of Little Rock, police said. Oklahoma investigators said the car he allegedly stole was found in Morrilton, about 130 miles east of where the bodies were found in Sequoia County, Oklahoma, on Tuesday night.

Investigators issued an update Wednesday evening where they said the suspect was known to have purchased camping equipment and all indications are that he is still in the Morrilton area.
