‘The Golden Bachelor’ finale: Jerry breaks up with Leslie in heartbreaking fashion

Jerry Turner He has made his most heartbreaking decision. Thursday in the season finale The Golden BachelorLeslie decided to end things with Fima to pursue a relationship with 72-year-old retired restaurateur Teresa Nist.

when Last weekend episode, Jerry told Leslie that he thought she was the woman he couldn’t live without. However, Jerry still went on his fantasy suite date with Teresa, saying afterward that he felt like “it was the first day in my whole life.”

“I love them both and I’ve said ‘I love you’ to them every time. I can see a life together with each of them,” Kerry told Leslie and Teresa’s cameras. “… At this point, I know I can’t put it off any longer. As hard as it is, I think I’ve made my decision.”

Anyway, Jerry decided to introduce To his family, both Leslie and Teresa. That’s the end, host Jesse Palmer told ETJerry’s way is to “let the thing play out until the end.”

“I think he’s very open to every conversation and every moment with these girls opens up new doors and discovers more. I think he was really excited to do that.” Jesse said. “Part of it is the girls meeting his family, but I think a lot of it is the time he spends and the chemistry he has, and being honest with himself.”

Leslie came to meet Jerry after his family gave Theresa their seal of approval and things went well for her too, leaving the leading man even more uncertain.

Although Leslie was thrilled with how things were going with Jerry’s daughters, Jenny and Angie, and granddaughters Payton and Charlie, she sensed that something was wrong with Jerry.

That uncertainty continued into their evening together, when Jerry told Leslie, “I know time is running out and I have to make a life-changing decision, and I like it.”

Jerry decided to “start fresh” after getting it off his chest, but he and Leslie drank wine, laughed and enjoyed each other’s company. Leslie tugs at Jerry’s heart when she presents him with an album full of memories from their time together.

When Leslie expresses her love for Jerry, he doesn’t fully return the sentiment.

“Be happy,” Jerry said after hugging Leslie through her tears. Be happy too,” she replied.

The two shared a long hug at the door, after which Leslie asked, “Is there something you want to tell me?”

“I have a difficult decision to make,” he replied. “It’s a lot harder than I thought.”

When he left Leslie’s room, Jerry sat on the stairs and burst into tears. Meanwhile, Leslie told the cameras, “I definitely don’t believe it now. I know why he was off today. I know why.”

Returning to Leslie’s room, Jerry decides to talk to her again and end the good thing.

“It’s been tough and I’ve made a decision about how I want to go about it,” he said. “I fell in love with Teresa, and that’s where I was going.”

She questioned whether everything he told her in the fantasy suit was “a complete and utter lie”, which she denied, saying “it was the truth at the time”.

“If I had known how much pain I would have caused someone, I would never have taken the first step on this journey,” Jerry said.

Leslie said the whole thing was “typical” of her life and that “no one chose me”.

“You made me feel like you chose me. You said things that made me feel like this was going to happen,” she cried. “You led me down a path and then you took a turn and left me there. That’s how I feel. It’s heartbreaking to be honest.”

Jerry replied, “I’m sorry. I wish I could say something, but I know there isn’t.”

Leslie noted that “Teresa was a great woman” but said she was “overwhelmed” by the turn of events.

Kerry leaves the room a second time and Leslie breaks the cameras.

“I’m tired of putting myself out there,” she said. “Time is running out.”

Unsurprisingly, the moment was an emotional one, as Jesse previously told ET, “I think it’s the most emotional goodbye I’ve ever seen in the history of the show. Bachelor, Bachelor, Heaven. I mean, it’s really bittersweet. It’s heart-wrenching.”

Jerry is also broken, telling Jesse, “I took a good man and the king broke their heart. I hate myself. I think the only time I’ve ever felt worse in my life was when my wife died. Far away, it’s a god** close second.”

“That conversation with Jerry was the most raw conversation I’ve ever had or had with anybody since I’ve been hosting the show,” Jesse previously told ET. “That was a moment I’ll never forget. Because I saw how heartbreaking it was for him. The way he described it, it was so visceral. I don’t even know how to describe it. It was just that. Really intense.”

In the live segment of the show, Leslie spoke to Jessie, saying, “The heartbreak I went through, the blindside I went through, all those feelings I look back on, I look back on it… I’m devastated. . . I’ve been unrepentant about this whole thing … I haven’t been in love with anybody in a long time. , so it’s difficult. It’s very difficult.”

“I was so sad because … I was 100 percent his girl [because of] The things he said to me on our one night stand…I felt like I could be in that family in a heartbeat…I wasn’t expecting it,” she added. “…I went and picked out a dress, I wrote my vows, and we were living together. Imagined … I planned this whole life for us. He shot me a lot, so the fall was really hard for me.”

Leslie next reunites with Jerry and tells him that she has “time to process” and is “much better” than when they broke up. She told him she loved him for “many reasons” and added, “I’d like to give you that death do us part so badly.”

Leslie went on to praise Jerry’s honesty and said that because of that, she took his words at face value. Those words he said one night, Leslie said, made her “100 percent” sure she was his girl.

“I don’t know where I went wrong,” she said. “I feel like you painted me a picture of what our lives would be like. You chose not to tell me those things. The other things we talked about, the plans we made, I was devastated.”

Jerry apologized, saying his “heart wasn’t ready” for the process, which became “harder and harder” as the weeks went by. He explained that he gave each person his “undivided attention” and caught moments with each woman while doing so.

“You’re the person I believed was my person until I found out you weren’t,” she said, adding that her relationship “was better with someone else.”

Although Leslie didn’t accept Jerry’s apology, she said she understood. “I wish I had done better,” Jerry added.

Despite everything, Leslie said she was “so glad” Jerry said “I love you” to her because it “opened my heart” to the possibility of future love.

“I deserve it,” she said. “I’m going to figure it out.”
