Kate Middleton's photo editing fail According to a former royal butler, the accident has done more harm than good in silencing mass speculation about his well-being.
The 42-year-old Princess of Wales, who is recovering from stomach surgery behind closed doors, was forced to apologize after posting a medical family photo for Mother's Day in England on Sunday.
But with growing buzz about the royal's post-surgery recovery, the film's release raised concerns, says King Charles' former butler Grant Harold.
“Of course, it's worrying, because at the moment everyone is overanalyzing it, and everyone is worried about her and looking for any kind of signs,” Harald, who served as the king's butler for seven years, said. The Prince of Wales told The Post exclusively.
“If she hadn't taken this time, photo editing wouldn't really have been a story,” Harald said.
“It would have been a case of admitting that they edited the photo a bit and then it would be over,” the royal expert added.
Within seconds of the picture being posted on social media, eagle-eyed followers noticed countless editing mishaps in a photo of Middleton with her three children.
Widespread speculation prompted conspiracy theorists to come out of the woodwork, not only about Middleton's health, but also her whereabouts.
“Editing a photo has become a big deal because some people believe there's something going on behind the scenes,” Harrold said of the rumor surrounding the mom of three.
“When he returns to duties and things calm down, I'm sure if there's any editing in the future, people won't analyze it as much as they did now.”
“She's recovering, she's taking her time, she did this family photo, and for whatever reason, she obviously wants to edit some, and I think that's a personal preference,” Harold added.
After the retouching of the photo sparked rumors about her health, the royal took to social media to set the record straight about what happened.
“Like many amateur photographers, I occasionally experiment with editing,” he wrote in X in the wake of the controversy. “I want to apologize for the confusion caused by the family photo we shared yesterday.”
Royale tweeted his apology after leading photo agencies including Reuters, Associated Press, Getty and Agence France-Presse – all of whom were drawn to the image by several signs it had been altered.
On Monday, the princess was seen leaving Windsor Castle with her husband Prince William hours after her photo was clarified.
