Czech Republic's Kristina Piskova won the Miss World 2024 title in Mumbai on Saturday. Karolina Bialawska was crowned Miss World in a star-studded finale hosted by renowned filmmaker Karan Johar and former Miss World Megan Young. Miss Lebanon Yasmina Zaytoun was the first runner-up.
Krystyna Pyszkova, 25, is pursuing a dual degree in law and business administration in addition to modeling. She is the second woman to represent the Czech Republic at the Miss World title after Tanana Kucharova, who won the title in 2006.
22-year-old Sini Shetty, who won the title of Femina Miss India World 2022, represented India but did not make it to the final four. India has won the Miss World title six times: Rita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mukherjee (1999), Priyanka Chopra Jonas (2000), and Manushi Chillar (2017).
India hosted a beauty pageant after 28 years. The month-long Miss World pageant includes talent shows, sporting challenges and philanthropic activities, all aimed at identifying and showcasing the characteristics that distinguish change agents among the participants.
