Winter storm watch issued for Massachusetts as another round of snow approaches – Boston 25 News

NEW ENGLAND – A winter storm watch has been issued for parts of Massachusetts until 8 a.m. Wednesday as a nor’easter is on track to deliver significant snow, rain, wind and coastal concerns to parts of New England.

Northern Berkshire, Southern Berkshire East Franklin, Northern Worcester, Northwest Middlesex County, Western Franklin, Western Hampton, Western Hampshire, Central Middlesex County, Southern Worcester, Western Essex, Eastern Hampton, Eastern Hampshire, Barnstable, Eastern Essex and East Philimos Winter Storm Watches under.

Boston 25 meteorologists say these winter storm watches will be upgraded to warnings closer to the storm’s arrival.

Scattered rain and snow showers will begin Monday afternoon ahead of the storm.

Drivers will begin to see some delays on the roads for the Monday evening commute. As the evening progresses, rain and snow will fill in and intensify Monday night.

This storm will last a long time. Heavy snow and rain early Tuesday. The intensity will decrease slightly by Tuesday afternoon, but the storm will still bring snow and some rain into Wednesday.

This storm is packing a ton of moisture, which will lead to significantly heavier and wetter snow aloft and early heavy rain closer to the coast.

Over a foot of snow can easily be seen in the Berkshires with elevations as high as 2 feet.

A high wind watch has been issued for coastal areas from Tuesday morning into Wednesday morning.

Wind gusts as high as 60 mph could cause power outages. Minor coastal flooding and beach erosion are concerns for the coast.
